Ova egzotična vrsta potječe iz planina Kenije, iz tropskih područja Indije i s otoka u Indijskom oceanu. Pripada porodici tikvenjača koja se odlikuje pripadnicima s najrazličitijim plodovima.

Kokcinija (Coccinia) ima jedinstven izgled, dekorativno lišće, cvjetove i zanimljive plodove koji kada dozriju postaju crveni. Poznata je pod nazivima: crveni krastavac, baby lubenica, tajlandski špinat, tikva prst, piše Agroklub.

Lokalno stanovništvo koristi kokciniju u prehrani, kao ljekovitu i dekorativnu biljku. Osim plodova jede se i lišće. Mladi listovi i vrhovi stabljika se kuhaju i pripremaju kao blitva ili špinat. Zeleni plodovi se upotrebljavaju poput krastavca. Jedu se sirovi i od njih se prave salate ili se prže s drugim povrćem. Čak se mogu kiseliti za zimu.

Od zrelih plodova se prave džemovi, marmelade i kompoti, a mogu se jesti sirovi. Svježu je ne treba previše konzumirati, jer se njeni sokovi koriste kao laksativ u narodnoj medicini. Kao ukrasna često zamjenjuje bršljan.

Brzo raste, obavija i guši okolnu vegetaciju. Formira puno sjemenki. U tropskim područjima je izuzetno invazivna. I pored toga što je toploljubiva vrsta može podnijeti kratkotrajnu negativnu temperaturu, ali najčešće propada s prvim jesenskim mrazevima kada je ostavimo vani. Zato sačuvajte njene gomolje za sljedeću sezonu.

Opis kokcinije

Po izgledu je slična bršljanu. Njene loze narastu od 3 do 6 m. U tropskim područjima je višegodišnja biljka. U kući ili stanu gdje ima grijanje preko zime možemo je uzgajati kao višegodišnju. Korijen je gomoljast. Kada je ne zalijevamo, nadzemni dio se osuši, ali će gomolji sačuvati vodu i kasnije će iz njih niknuti nova biljka.

Stabljika je puzajuća s viticama. Dekorativni listovi su urezani s tri do pet režnjeva, glatke površine, tamnozeleni. Formira muške i ženske cvjetove na jednoj biljci, ali se ponekad dogodi da formira isključivo cvjetove jednog spola. Zbog te karakteristike potrebno je zasaditi više njih.

Ženski cvjetovi su manji od muških. Cvijet se sastoji od pet latica i prašnika ako je muški, odnosno latica i tučka ako je ženski. Muški dostiže veličinu do 3,5 cm. Cvjetove oprašuju kukci.

Plodovi svojim izgledom podsjećaju na mini krastavce dužine do 5 cm. Zeleni su dok su mladi i često na sebi imaju pruge. Tijekom dozrijevanja mjenjaju boju u intenzivno crvenu. Meso ploda je slično želeu i ima okus na bananu i lubenicu. S jedne biljke možete ubrati oko 3 kg ploda.

Sjetva i sadnja

Sjeme kokcinije se sije u veljači ili ožujku. U posudu od 1 l posije se po jedna sjemenka. Klijavost je visoka. Kako bi mlade biljke napredovale, posudu postavite na prozorsku dasku s južne strane jer im treba mnogo svjetlosti.

Ako je tmurno vrijeme, nabavite dodatno osvjetljenje. Možemo saditi i gomolje što je lakše i pouzdanije od sjetve sjemena.

U sjeni neće dati plodove

To je tropska biljka koja za svoj rast i razvoj traži dosta svjetlosti, vlage i topline. Na kontinentu je možemo uzgajati samo kao jednogodišnju. Gomolje možemo sačuvati preko zime i poslužit će nam za sadnju narednu godine. Također, možemo sačuvati sjeme za sjetvu.

Kokciniji odgovaraju različita zemljišta s dobrom drenažom, pH neutralna, s dovoljno organske tvari. Dobro je prije sadnje u sadne jame dodati kompost, humus ili pregorjeli stajnjak. Birajte osunčane lokacije, jer u sjeni neće dati plodove.

Potrebno ju je redovno zalijevati. Nakon sadnje na stalno mjesto postavite oslonac na koji će se penjati ili je posadite pored visoke ograde, pergole. Ne sadite je pored drugih biljaka pošto ih obavija i guši.

Može narasti i smetati, ali je tada treba orezati. Odrezane dijelove treba ukloniti i uništiti, jer se lako ukorjenjuju, ili ih iskoristite za dobivanje novih biljaka.

Ova egzotična vrsta potječe iz planina Kenije, iz tropskih područja Indije i s otoka u Indijskom oceanu. Pripada porodici tikvenjača koja se odlikuje pripadnicima s najrazličitijim plodovima.

Kokcinija (Coccinia) ima jedinstven izgled, dekorativno lišće, cvjetove i zanimljive plodove koji kada dozriju postaju crveni. Poznata je pod nazivima: crveni krastavac, baby lubenica, tajlandski špinat, tikva prst, piše Agroklub.

Lokalno stanovništvo koristi kokciniju u prehrani, kao ljekovitu i dekorativnu biljku. Osim plodova jede se i lišće. Mladi listovi i vrhovi stabljika se kuhaju i pripremaju kao blitva ili špinat. Zeleni plodovi se upotrebljavaju poput krastavca. Jedu se sirovi i od njih se prave salate ili se prže s drugim povrćem. Čak se mogu kiseliti za zimu.

Od zrelih plodova se prave džemovi, marmelade i kompoti, a mogu se jesti sirovi. Svježu je ne treba previše konzumirati, jer se njeni sokovi koriste kao laksativ u narodnoj medicini. Kao ukrasna često zamjenjuje bršljan.

Brzo raste, obavija i guši okolnu vegetaciju. Formira puno sjemenki. U tropskim područjima je izuzetno invazivna. I pored toga što je toploljubiva vrsta može podnijeti kratkotrajnu negativnu temperaturu, ali najčešće propada s prvim jesenskim mrazevima kada je ostavimo vani. Zato sačuvajte njene gomolje za sljedeću sezonu.

Opis kokcinije

Po izgledu je slična bršljanu. Njene loze narastu od 3 do 6 m. U tropskim područjima je višegodišnja biljka. U kući ili stanu gdje ima grijanje preko zime možemo je uzgajati kao višegodišnju. Korijen je gomoljast. Kada je ne zalijevamo, nadzemni dio se osuši, ali će gomolji sačuvati vodu i kasnije će iz njih niknuti nova biljka.

Stabljika je puzajuća s viticama. Dekorativni listovi su urezani s tri do pet režnjeva, glatke površine, tamnozeleni. Formira muške i ženske cvjetove na jednoj biljci, ali se ponekad dogodi da formira isključivo cvjetove jednog spola. Zbog te karakteristike potrebno je zasaditi više njih.

Ženski cvjetovi su manji od muških. Cvijet se sastoji od pet latica i prašnika ako je muški, odnosno latica i tučka ako je ženski. Muški dostiže veličinu do 3,5 cm. Cvjetove oprašuju kukci.

Plodovi svojim izgledom podsjećaju na mini krastavce dužine do 5 cm. Zeleni su dok su mladi i često na sebi imaju pruge. Tijekom dozrijevanja mjenjaju boju u intenzivno crvenu. Meso ploda je slično želeu i ima okus na bananu i lubenicu. S jedne biljke možete ubrati oko 3 kg ploda.

Sjetva i sadnja

Sjeme kokcinije se sije u veljači ili ožujku. U posudu od 1 l posije se po jedna sjemenka. Klijavost je visoka. Kako bi mlade biljke napredovale, posudu postavite na prozorsku dasku s južne strane jer im treba mnogo svjetlosti.

Ako je tmurno vrijeme, nabavite dodatno osvjetljenje. Možemo saditi i gomolje što je lakše i pouzdanije od sjetve sjemena.

U sjeni neće dati plodove

To je tropska biljka koja za svoj rast i razvoj traži dosta svjetlosti, vlage i topline. Na kontinentu je možemo uzgajati samo kao jednogodišnju. Gomolje možemo sačuvati preko zime i poslužit će nam za sadnju narednu godine. Također, možemo sačuvati sjeme za sjetvu.

Kokciniji odgovaraju različita zemljišta s dobrom drenažom, pH neutralna, s dovoljno organske tvari. Dobro je prije sadnje u sadne jame dodati kompost, humus ili pregorjeli stajnjak. Birajte osunčane lokacije, jer u sjeni neće dati plodove.

Potrebno ju je redovno zalijevati. Nakon sadnje na stalno mjesto postavite oslonac na koji će se penjati ili je posadite pored visoke ograde, pergole. Ne sadite je pored drugih biljaka pošto ih obavija i guši.

Može narasti i smetati, ali je tada treba orezati. Odrezane dijelove treba ukloniti i uništiti, jer se lako ukorjenjuju, ili ih iskoristite za dobivanje novih biljaka.
