SpaceX-ova raketa Starship, dizajnirana s ciljem da naposljetku pošalje astronaute na Mjesec, završila je gotovo cijeli probni let u svemir u svom trećem pokušaju u četvrtak, ali je uništena tijekom povratka na Zemlju nakon što je stigla dalje nego ikad prije.
Tijekom prijenosa leta uživo, komentatori SpaceX-a rekli su da je kontrola misije izgubila komunikaciju sa svemirskom letjelicom tijekom njenog ponovnog ulaska u atmosferu pri hipersoničnoj brzini.
Vozilo se približavalo planiranom mjestu pada u Indijskom oceanu oko sat vremena nakon lansiranja iz južnog Teksasa.
Nekoliko minuta kasnije, SpaceX je potvrdio da je letjelica "izgubljena". 
Vjerojatno je izgorjela ili se raspala tijekom ponovnog ulaska ili pada u more.
Iz nejasnih razloga, SpaceX je odlučio preskočiti jedan od temeljnih ciljeva probnog leta - pokušaj ponovnog paljenja jednog od Starshipovih motora Raptor dok je lebdio u niskoj orbiti.
To se smatra ključnim za budući uspjeh.
Ipak, ispunjenje mnogih planiranih ciljeva leta predstavlja prekretnicu u razvoju svemirske letjelice koja je ključna za rastući sektor lansiranja satelita SpaceX-a, kojeg je 2002. utemeljio Elon Musk, i NASA-inog programa za Mjesec.
Šef NASA-e Bill Nelson čestitao je SpaceX-u na onome što je nazvao "uspješnim testnim letom".

Predsjednica SpaceX-a Gwynne Shotwell objavila je na X-u da je riječ o "nevjerojatnom danu".
Dvostupanjska svemirska letjelica, koja se sastoji od broda za krstarenje Starship postavljenog na vrhu raketnog nosača Super Heavy, poletjela je s lansirne lokacije tvrtke Starbase u blizini Boca Chica Villagea na obali Meksičkog zaljeva u Teksasu.
Svemirska letjelica daleko je nadmašila svoja dva prethodna leta koji su bili prekinuti eksplozijama nekoliko minuta nakon lansiranja.
Tvrtka je unaprijed priznala kako postoji velika vjerojatnost da bi njen zadnji let mogao završiti uništenjem letjelice prije završetka misije.

Tijekom prijenosa leta uživo, komentatori SpaceX-a rekli su da je kontrola misije izgubila komunikaciju sa svemirskom letjelicom tijekom njenog ponovnog ulaska u atmosferu pri hipersoničnoj brzini.
Vozilo se približavalo planiranom mjestu pada u Indijskom oceanu oko sat vremena nakon lansiranja iz južnog Teksasa.
Nekoliko minuta kasnije, SpaceX je potvrdio da je letjelica "izgubljena". 
Vjerojatno je izgorjela ili se raspala tijekom ponovnog ulaska ili pada u more.
Iz nejasnih razloga, SpaceX je odlučio preskočiti jedan od temeljnih ciljeva probnog leta - pokušaj ponovnog paljenja jednog od Starshipovih motora Raptor dok je lebdio u niskoj orbiti.
To se smatra ključnim za budući uspjeh.
Ipak, ispunjenje mnogih planiranih ciljeva leta predstavlja prekretnicu u razvoju svemirske letjelice koja je ključna za rastući sektor lansiranja satelita SpaceX-a, kojeg je 2002. utemeljio Elon Musk, i NASA-inog programa za Mjesec.
Šef NASA-e Bill Nelson čestitao je SpaceX-u na onome što je nazvao "uspješnim testnim letom".

Predsjednica SpaceX-a Gwynne Shotwell objavila je na X-u da je riječ o "nevjerojatnom danu".
Dvostupanjska svemirska letjelica, koja se sastoji od broda za krstarenje Starship postavljenog na vrhu raketnog nosača Super Heavy, poletjela je s lansirne lokacije tvrtke Starbase u blizini Boca Chica Villagea na obali Meksičkog zaljeva u Teksasu.
Svemirska letjelica daleko je nadmašila svoja dva prethodna leta koji su bili prekinuti eksplozijama nekoliko minuta nakon lansiranja.
Tvrtka je unaprijed priznala kako postoji velika vjerojatnost da bi njen zadnji let mogao završiti uništenjem letjelice prije završetka misije.

SpaceX-ova raketa Starship, dizajnirana s ciljem da naposljetku pošalje astronaute na Mjesec, završila je gotovo cijeli probni let u svemir u svom trećem pokušaju u četvrtak, ali je uništena tijekom povratka na Zemlju nakon što je stigla dalje nego ikad prije.
