U prosinačkoj analizi američki think tank Institut za proučavanje rata (ISW) objasnio je da SAD ima mnogo veći ulog u ratu Rusije protiv Ukrajine nego što većina ljudi misli.

Dok se u SAD-u vodi rasprava o nastavku financijske pomoći za Ukrajinu, ISW pojašnjava kakve bi posljedice mogla imati pobjeda Rusije.

Pobijedi li ruska vojska u ovom ratu, ona bi bila znatno borbeno iskusnija i veća od ruskih snaga prije 2022. godine, a istovremeno bi se oporavljalo i rusko gospodarstvo sa slabljenjem zapadnih sankcija. Rusija bi tako uspjela obnoviti i izgraditi svoju opremu i mogla bi, po prvi put od 1990-ih, predstavljati veliku konvencionalnu vojnu prijetnju NATO-u.

Vojni potencijal SAD-a i NATO saveznika je znatno veći od onog kojim raspolaže Rusije pa nema sumnje da bi Zapad porazio Rusiju, čak i da ona apsorbira u cijelosti i Ukrajinu i Bjelorusiju, navodi ISW i upozorava na probleme koji mogu nastati prestane li Zapad financirati Ukrajinu.

Za odvraćanje i obranu od ruske prijetnje u tom scenariju, SAD bi značajan dio svojih snaga i opreme morao rasporediti u istočnoj Europi, što je iznimno skupo, a istovremeno bi suzio prostor za djelovanje u Aziji u slučaju potrebe obrane Tajvana. Cijeli će pothvat koštati pravo bogatstvo, a trajat će sve dok traje ruska prijetnja – potencijalno u nedogled.

Gotovo svaki drugi ishod ukrajinskog rata je bolji od ovog, navodi ISW i ističe koliko je stoga važno nastaviti financirati Ukrajinu u obrani protiv Rusije.

Što ako Rusija okupira Ukrajinu?

Institut je potom ilustrirao nekoliko potencijalnih situacija i njihove implikacije. Jedna od njih se odnosi i na potencijalnu rusku pobjedu u Ukrajini i potpunu okupaciju države.

Izostanak zapadne pomoći prije ili kasnije doveo do kolapsa ukrajinske sposobnosti da se obrani od ruske vojske. Ruske snage bi se u takvom scenariju mogle probiti sve do zapadne ukrajinske granice i uspostaviti nove vojne baze na granicama s Poljskom, Mađarskom, Slovačkom i Rumunjskom, što bi prestavljalo prijetnju i za NATO. Osim toga, dio snaga bi vjerojatno rasporedili i u Bjelorusiji.

ISW piše da bi Rusi u tom scenariju mogli zaprijetiti kratkotrajnom mehaniziranom ofenzivom protiv jedne ili nekoliko država NATO-a s najmanje osam divizija, uz potporu pričuva, a pritom bi još mogli zaprijetiti i baltičkim državama i Finskoj. Uz to, Rusija bi imala i značajnu zračnu podršku.

NATO se ne bi mogao obraniti od takvog ruskog napada sa snagama koje su trenutno u Europi. SAD bi morao premjestiti velik broj američkih vojnika na cijelu istočnu granicu NATO-a od Baltika do Crnog mora kako bi odvratile ruski avanturizam i bile spremne poraziti ruski napad. Uz to, morali bi trajno poslati i značajan dio svoje flote nevidljivih zrakoplova u Europu.

Istovremeno, takav bi poduhvat mogao ozbiljno degradirati sposobnost Amerike da učinkovito odgovori na kinesku agresiju protiv Tajvana budući da se svi tajvanski scenariji uvelike oslanjaju na iste stealth zrakoplove koji bi bili potrebni za obranu Europe. Trošak ovih obrambenih mjera bio bi astronomski.

U prosinačkoj analizi američki think tank Institut za proučavanje rata (ISW) objasnio je da SAD ima mnogo veći ulog u ratu Rusije protiv Ukrajine nego što većina ljudi misli.

Dok se u SAD-u vodi rasprava o nastavku financijske pomoći za Ukrajinu, ISW pojašnjava kakve bi posljedice mogla imati pobjeda Rusije.

Pobijedi li ruska vojska u ovom ratu, ona bi bila znatno borbeno iskusnija i veća od ruskih snaga prije 2022. godine, a istovremeno bi se oporavljalo i rusko gospodarstvo sa slabljenjem zapadnih sankcija. Rusija bi tako uspjela obnoviti i izgraditi svoju opremu i mogla bi, po prvi put od 1990-ih, predstavljati veliku konvencionalnu vojnu prijetnju NATO-u.

Vojni potencijal SAD-a i NATO saveznika je znatno veći od onog kojim raspolaže Rusije pa nema sumnje da bi Zapad porazio Rusiju, čak i da ona apsorbira u cijelosti i Ukrajinu i Bjelorusiju, navodi ISW i upozorava na probleme koji mogu nastati prestane li Zapad financirati Ukrajinu.

Za odvraćanje i obranu od ruske prijetnje u tom scenariju, SAD bi značajan dio svojih snaga i opreme morao rasporediti u istočnoj Europi, što je iznimno skupo, a istovremeno bi suzio prostor za djelovanje u Aziji u slučaju potrebe obrane Tajvana. Cijeli će pothvat koštati pravo bogatstvo, a trajat će sve dok traje ruska prijetnja – potencijalno u nedogled.

Gotovo svaki drugi ishod ukrajinskog rata je bolji od ovog, navodi ISW i ističe koliko je stoga važno nastaviti financirati Ukrajinu u obrani protiv Rusije.

Što ako Rusija okupira Ukrajinu?

Institut je potom ilustrirao nekoliko potencijalnih situacija i njihove implikacije. Jedna od njih se odnosi i na potencijalnu rusku pobjedu u Ukrajini i potpunu okupaciju države.

Izostanak zapadne pomoći prije ili kasnije doveo do kolapsa ukrajinske sposobnosti da se obrani od ruske vojske. Ruske snage bi se u takvom scenariju mogle probiti sve do zapadne ukrajinske granice i uspostaviti nove vojne baze na granicama s Poljskom, Mađarskom, Slovačkom i Rumunjskom, što bi prestavljalo prijetnju i za NATO. Osim toga, dio snaga bi vjerojatno rasporedili i u Bjelorusiji.

ISW piše da bi Rusi u tom scenariju mogli zaprijetiti kratkotrajnom mehaniziranom ofenzivom protiv jedne ili nekoliko država NATO-a s najmanje osam divizija, uz potporu pričuva, a pritom bi još mogli zaprijetiti i baltičkim državama i Finskoj. Uz to, Rusija bi imala i značajnu zračnu podršku.

NATO se ne bi mogao obraniti od takvog ruskog napada sa snagama koje su trenutno u Europi. SAD bi morao premjestiti velik broj američkih vojnika na cijelu istočnu granicu NATO-a od Baltika do Crnog mora kako bi odvratile ruski avanturizam i bile spremne poraziti ruski napad. Uz to, morali bi trajno poslati i značajan dio svoje flote nevidljivih zrakoplova u Europu.

Istovremeno, takav bi poduhvat mogao ozbiljno degradirati sposobnost Amerike da učinkovito odgovori na kinesku agresiju protiv Tajvana budući da se svi tajvanski scenariji uvelike oslanjaju na iste stealth zrakoplove koji bi bili potrebni za obranu Europe. Trošak ovih obrambenih mjera bio bi astronomski.
