Eksperiment suzbijanja širenja zaraze koronavirusom koji je proveden u talijanskom gradiću Vòu u regiji Veneto na samom početku koronakrize rezultirao je potpunom eliminacijom novih slučajeva, piše Financial Times, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Djelatnicima u zdravstvu to je pošlo za rukom jer su više puta na koronavirus testirali svih 3.300 stanovnika mjesta, neovisno o tome jesu li prikazivali simptome bolesti. Kada bi utvrdili da je netko pozitivan na koronavirus, stavili bi i njega i sve osobe s kojima je bio u kontaktu u strogu karantenu. Zahvaljujući tom su režimu uspjeli zaustaviti širenje bolesti.

Andrea Crisanti, stručnjak za zaraze s Carskog koledža u Londonu i sudionik eksperimenta u Vòu, poziva sve zemlje koje ograničavaju testiranje, a među njima su i Velika Britanija te Sjedinjene Američke Države, da se ugledaju na ovaj talijanski gradić i počnu temeljitije testirati veći broj svojih građana.

"U Velikoj Britaniji postoji puno zaraženih koji su u potpunosti ignoriraju", rekao je Crisanti za Financial Times. "Mi smo ovdje uspjeli suzbiti širenje zaraze tako što smo pronašli 'utopljene' zaražene i izolirali ih. To je bilo ključno."

Njihov uspjeh podcrtava važnost testiranja i izoliranja zdravih širitelja zaraze, a taj pristup podržava i Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO). WHO je ovog tjedna pozvao sve zemlje da testiranju pristupe agresivno, istaknuvši pritom da su Južna Koreja i Tajvan zbog toga uspjeli do određene mjere suzbiti širenje zaraze. "Naša ključna poruka je: 'testirajte, testirajte, testirajte'", rekao je u ponedjeljak čelnik WHO-a Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Crisanti je rekao da je ovaj neobičan i po mnogočemu slučajan eksperiment znanstvenicima dopustio da naprave potpunu "epidemiološku sliku" bolesti.

Testiranje je počelo kao sklepana mjera nakon što je 22. veljače u tom gradiću od Covida-19 preminula prva osoba. Nije jasno zašto je broj zaraženih koronavirusom na sjeveru Italije drastično skočio prije nego što se isto dogodilo u ostatku Europe. Crisanti i drugi smatraju da se to dogodilo zato što je taj dio Italije na gospodarskom planu blisko povezan s Kinom.

Prvi krug testiranja proveden krajem veljače u Vòu pokazao je da je tri posto stanovnika inficirano koronavirusom, ali i da polovica nositelja zaraze nije prikazivala nikakve simptome zaraze. Nakon izoliranja zaraženih, drugi krug testiranja, koji je proveden deset dana kasnije, pokazao je da se stupanj zaraženosti populacije smanjio na 0,3 posto.

Tijekom drugog kruga testiranja identificirano je šest zaraženih osoba koje nisu imale nikakve simptome. To je značilo da se i njih potom moglo staviti u karantenu. "Da ih nismo prepoznali, zaraza bi se nastavila širiti", objasnio je Crisanti.

Za razliku od strategije opširnog testiranja koja je primijenjena u Vòu i preporuke čelnika WHO-a, zemlje poput Velike Britanije i Nizozemske odlučile su se primijeniti strategiju "imuniteta krda" koja uključuje puštanje zaraze da se širi populacijom kako bi ljudi samostalno stekli otpornost.

Dorit Nitzan, sukoordinatorica za hitne slučajeva WHO-a za Europu, tvrdi da se strategija imuniteta krda ne bi trebala koristiti u slučaju koronavirusa jer se o samom virusu jako malo zna te da ga zdravstvena zajednica još uvijek proučava.

Financial Times navodi da se strategije koje pojedine zemlje koriste za borbu protiv koronavirusa stalno mijenjaju. Velika je Britanija ovog tjedna najavila da će povećati opseg testiranja kako bi smanjila broj novih slučajeva zaraze koji bi mogli dovesti do preopterećenja zdravstvenog sustava.

Vlasti u talijanskoj regiji Veneto žele nastaviti agresivno testirati stanovnike. Cilj im je dnevno uzeti najmanje 11 tisuća briseva. "Ako netko nazove naše specijalne telefonske brojeve i kaže da je bolestan, testiraju se svi članovi obitelji te osobe, svi njezini prijatelji i svi koji žive u blizini te osobe", rekao je Crisanti.

Luca Zaia, predsjednik Veneta i pokretač projekta u Vòu, dao je podršku inicijativi agresivnog testiranja. "Nositelj zaraze bez simptoma može zaraziti deset osoba. Brisevi mogu spasiti živote", rekao je.

Eksperiment suzbijanja širenja zaraze koronavirusom koji je proveden u talijanskom gradiću Vòu u regiji Veneto na samom početku koronakrize rezultirao je potpunom eliminacijom novih slučajeva, piše Financial Times, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Djelatnicima u zdravstvu to je pošlo za rukom jer su više puta na koronavirus testirali svih 3.300 stanovnika mjesta, neovisno o tome jesu li prikazivali simptome bolesti. Kada bi utvrdili da je netko pozitivan na koronavirus, stavili bi i njega i sve osobe s kojima je bio u kontaktu u strogu karantenu. Zahvaljujući tom su režimu uspjeli zaustaviti širenje bolesti.

Andrea Crisanti, stručnjak za zaraze s Carskog koledža u Londonu i sudionik eksperimenta u Vòu, poziva sve zemlje koje ograničavaju testiranje, a među njima su i Velika Britanija te Sjedinjene Američke Države, da se ugledaju na ovaj talijanski gradić i počnu temeljitije testirati veći broj svojih građana.

"U Velikoj Britaniji postoji puno zaraženih koji su u potpunosti ignoriraju", rekao je Crisanti za Financial Times. "Mi smo ovdje uspjeli suzbiti širenje zaraze tako što smo pronašli 'utopljene' zaražene i izolirali ih. To je bilo ključno."

Njihov uspjeh podcrtava važnost testiranja i izoliranja zdravih širitelja zaraze, a taj pristup podržava i Svjetska zdravstvena organizacija (WHO). WHO je ovog tjedna pozvao sve zemlje da testiranju pristupe agresivno, istaknuvši pritom da su Južna Koreja i Tajvan zbog toga uspjeli do određene mjere suzbiti širenje zaraze. "Naša ključna poruka je: 'testirajte, testirajte, testirajte'", rekao je u ponedjeljak čelnik WHO-a Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Crisanti je rekao da je ovaj neobičan i po mnogočemu slučajan eksperiment znanstvenicima dopustio da naprave potpunu "epidemiološku sliku" bolesti.

Testiranje je počelo kao sklepana mjera nakon što je 22. veljače u tom gradiću od Covida-19 preminula prva osoba. Nije jasno zašto je broj zaraženih koronavirusom na sjeveru Italije drastično skočio prije nego što se isto dogodilo u ostatku Europe. Crisanti i drugi smatraju da se to dogodilo zato što je taj dio Italije na gospodarskom planu blisko povezan s Kinom.

Prvi krug testiranja proveden krajem veljače u Vòu pokazao je da je tri posto stanovnika inficirano koronavirusom, ali i da polovica nositelja zaraze nije prikazivala nikakve simptome zaraze. Nakon izoliranja zaraženih, drugi krug testiranja, koji je proveden deset dana kasnije, pokazao je da se stupanj zaraženosti populacije smanjio na 0,3 posto.

Tijekom drugog kruga testiranja identificirano je šest zaraženih osoba koje nisu imale nikakve simptome. To je značilo da se i njih potom moglo staviti u karantenu. "Da ih nismo prepoznali, zaraza bi se nastavila širiti", objasnio je Crisanti.

Za razliku od strategije opširnog testiranja koja je primijenjena u Vòu i preporuke čelnika WHO-a, zemlje poput Velike Britanije i Nizozemske odlučile su se primijeniti strategiju "imuniteta krda" koja uključuje puštanje zaraze da se širi populacijom kako bi ljudi samostalno stekli otpornost.

Dorit Nitzan, sukoordinatorica za hitne slučajeva WHO-a za Europu, tvrdi da se strategija imuniteta krda ne bi trebala koristiti u slučaju koronavirusa jer se o samom virusu jako malo zna te da ga zdravstvena zajednica još uvijek proučava.

Financial Times navodi da se strategije koje pojedine zemlje koriste za borbu protiv koronavirusa stalno mijenjaju. Velika je Britanija ovog tjedna najavila da će povećati opseg testiranja kako bi smanjila broj novih slučajeva zaraze koji bi mogli dovesti do preopterećenja zdravstvenog sustava.

Vlasti u talijanskoj regiji Veneto žele nastaviti agresivno testirati stanovnike. Cilj im je dnevno uzeti najmanje 11 tisuća briseva. "Ako netko nazove naše specijalne telefonske brojeve i kaže da je bolestan, testiraju se svi članovi obitelji te osobe, svi njezini prijatelji i svi koji žive u blizini te osobe", rekao je Crisanti.

Luca Zaia, predsjednik Veneta i pokretač projekta u Vòu, dao je podršku inicijativi agresivnog testiranja. "Nositelj zaraze bez simptoma može zaraziti deset osoba. Brisevi mogu spasiti živote", rekao je.

Eksperiment suzbijanja širenja zaraze koronavirusom koji je proveden u talijanskom gradiću Vòu u regiji Veneto na samom početku koronakrize rezultirao je potpunom eliminacijom novih slučajeva, piše Financial Times, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Djelatnicima u zdravstvu to je pošlo za rukom jer su više puta na koronavirus testirali svih 3.300 stanovnika mjesta, neovisno o tome jesu li prikazivali simptome bolesti. Kada bi utvrdili da je netko pozitivan na koronavirus, stavili bi i njega i sve osobe s kojima je bio u kontaktu u strogu karantenu. Zahvaljujući tom su režimu uspjeli zaustaviti širenje bolesti.
