Dolaskom omikron-soja koronavirusa mnogi su u Hrvatskoj, ali i u ostatku svijeta, odahnuli, budući da se po svim dosadašnjim pokazateljima radi o blažem obliku COVID-19 virusa, koji nije tako smrtonosan kao što je bio delta-soj.

Međutim, ljudi i dalje umiru, i to u velikom broju.

I dok u ostatku svijeta pada broj preminulih, Hrvatska iz mjeseca u mjesec obara rekorde po broju umrlih tijekom mjesec dana.

Paradoksalno je da je u Hrvatskoj, u najgore doba pandemije, u veljači prošle godine, od COVID-a 19 umrlo 482 ljudi, a ovog mjeseca, u prvih osam dana, umrlo je njih 417. Dakle, u prvih sedam dana veljače ove godine u RH je od COVID-a umrlo 65 ljudi manje negoli je to bilo u cijeloj veljači prošle godine. Budući da do kraja ovog mjeseca ima još 20 dana, treba očekivati da će Hrvatska brojku umrlih od veljače prošle godine prestići već za dva dana.

Tako će u veljači u Hrvatskoj od COVID-a preminuti puno više ljudi negoli u veljači prošle godine, kada je cijepljenje tek počelo, kada smo imali opasniji soj, koji je davao težu kliničku sliku.

O tome zašto je to tako i zašto i dalje ljudi u Hrvatskoj u velikom broju umiru od COVID-a, razgovarali smo s prof. dr. sc. Zlatkom Trobonjačom, imunologom sa Sveučilišta u Rijeci.

Ugroženi stariji

– Prvo i osnovno jest da utvrdimo ima li još uvijek delta-soja među stanovništvom. Međutim, mi radimo vrlo malo sekvenciranja pa se ne može ni znati stvarno stanje na terenu.

Dalje, početkom siječnja ove godine u RH je vrlo vjerojatno bilo mnogo više delta-soja negoli je to slučaj sada. Omikron je "krenuo" tek negdje sredinom siječnja. Isto tako, mora se znati da smrtnost za brojkom onih koji su oboljeli "kasni" nekoliko tjedana, tako da sada imamo situaciju da još uvijek umiru oni ljudi koji su se zarazili delta-sojem – govori dr. Trobonjača.

No umiru ljudi i od omikrona.

– Omikron uzrokuje manju smrtnost, ali je zarazniji od delte, pa ako imate veliki broj novooboljelih, kao što je to slučaj u Hrvatskoj, gdje smo dnevno znali imati i do 20 tisuća novooboljelih, onda postotak umrlih ispadne manji u apsolutnom broju zaraženih. Starija populacija je i dalje najugroženija i Hrvatska tu zaostaje za ostatkom Europe i svijeta. Jedna četvrtina starije populacije nije cijepljena, to je jako puno, a oni su najosjetljiviji, pa je i omikron za njih vrlo opasan. Hrvatska ima jako puno starog stanovništva, stara smo nacija i onda imamo brojke kakve imamo – govori dr. Trobonjača.

S omikronom se nije šaliti.

– Definitivno, on napada, među ostalim, kardiovaskularni sustav i on nije kao virus prehlade, kakvim ga neki žele prikazati i umanjiti njegovu opasnost. On je mnogo opasniji od prehlade. Ljudi trebaju znati da omikron može uzrokovati tešku bolest i smrt – kaže naš sugovornik.

U Njemačkoj, koja broji oko 84 milijuna stanovnika i koja je po tom broju 22 puta veća od Hrvatske, u ponedjeljak je, prema Worldometeru, od COVID-a umrlo 129 osoba, dok je u Hrvatskoj, koja po posljednjem popisu stanovništva ima 3,8 milijuna stanovnika, istog dana umrlo 57 osoba.
Dan prije, u nedjelju, u Hrvatskoj je od COVID-a umrlo 59 osoba, a u Njemačkoj njih 34.

Dolaskom omikron-soja koronavirusa mnogi su u Hrvatskoj, ali i u ostatku svijeta, odahnuli, budući da se po svim dosadašnjim pokazateljima radi o blažem obliku COVID-19 virusa, koji nije tako smrtonosan kao što je bio delta-soj.

Međutim, ljudi i dalje umiru, i to u velikom broju.

I dok u ostatku svijeta pada broj preminulih, Hrvatska iz mjeseca u mjesec obara rekorde po broju umrlih tijekom mjesec dana.

Paradoksalno je da je u Hrvatskoj, u najgore doba pandemije, u veljači prošle godine, od COVID-a 19 umrlo 482 ljudi, a ovog mjeseca, u prvih osam dana, umrlo je njih 417. Dakle, u prvih sedam dana veljače ove godine u RH je od COVID-a umrlo 65 ljudi manje negoli je to bilo u cijeloj veljači prošle godine. Budući da do kraja ovog mjeseca ima još 20 dana, treba očekivati da će Hrvatska brojku umrlih od veljače prošle godine prestići već za dva dana.

Tako će u veljači u Hrvatskoj od COVID-a preminuti puno više ljudi negoli u veljači prošle godine, kada je cijepljenje tek počelo, kada smo imali opasniji soj, koji je davao težu kliničku sliku.

O tome zašto je to tako i zašto i dalje ljudi u Hrvatskoj u velikom broju umiru od COVID-a, razgovarali smo s prof. dr. sc. Zlatkom Trobonjačom, imunologom sa Sveučilišta u Rijeci.

Ugroženi stariji

– Prvo i osnovno jest da utvrdimo ima li još uvijek delta-soja među stanovništvom. Međutim, mi radimo vrlo malo sekvenciranja pa se ne može ni znati stvarno stanje na terenu.

Dalje, početkom siječnja ove godine u RH je vrlo vjerojatno bilo mnogo više delta-soja negoli je to slučaj sada. Omikron je "krenuo" tek negdje sredinom siječnja. Isto tako, mora se znati da smrtnost za brojkom onih koji su oboljeli "kasni" nekoliko tjedana, tako da sada imamo situaciju da još uvijek umiru oni ljudi koji su se zarazili delta-sojem – govori dr. Trobonjača.

No umiru ljudi i od omikrona.

– Omikron uzrokuje manju smrtnost, ali je zarazniji od delte, pa ako imate veliki broj novooboljelih, kao što je to slučaj u Hrvatskoj, gdje smo dnevno znali imati i do 20 tisuća novooboljelih, onda postotak umrlih ispadne manji u apsolutnom broju zaraženih. Starija populacija je i dalje najugroženija i Hrvatska tu zaostaje za ostatkom Europe i svijeta. Jedna četvrtina starije populacije nije cijepljena, to je jako puno, a oni su najosjetljiviji, pa je i omikron za njih vrlo opasan. Hrvatska ima jako puno starog stanovništva, stara smo nacija i onda imamo brojke kakve imamo – govori dr. Trobonjača.

S omikronom se nije šaliti.

– Definitivno, on napada, među ostalim, kardiovaskularni sustav i on nije kao virus prehlade, kakvim ga neki žele prikazati i umanjiti njegovu opasnost. On je mnogo opasniji od prehlade. Ljudi trebaju znati da omikron može uzrokovati tešku bolest i smrt – kaže naš sugovornik.

U Hrvatskoj 59 umrlih, u Njemačkoj 34
U Njemačkoj, koja broji oko 84 milijuna stanovnika i koja je po tom broju 22 puta veća od Hrvatske, u ponedjeljak je, prema Worldometeru, od COVID-a umrlo 129 osoba, dok je u Hrvatskoj, koja po posljednjem popisu stanovništva ima 3,8 milijuna stanovnika, istog dana umrlo 57 osoba.
Dan prije, u nedjelju, u Hrvatskoj je od COVID-a umrlo 59 osoba, a u Njemačkoj njih 34.
