Gubitak mirisa mogao bi ponovno postati obilježje covida-19. Zdravstveni djelatnici kažu da sve veći broj ljudi zaraženih virusom ponovno prijavljuje taj simptom, piše Insider.

Još 2020. godine, ako su ljudi izgubili osjet mirisa, bilo je vrlo vjerojatno da su se zarazili koronavirusom. Novije varijante, uključujući i podvarijate omikrona, nisu uzrokovale taj simptom često.

Međutim, gubitak mirisa može se vratiti, jer je podvarijanta BA.5, koja lako može izbjeći imunološki odgovor tijela, postala najčešći uzrok novih slučajeva u SAD-u, prenosi N1.

Valentina Parma, psihologinja u Centru za kemijska osjetila Monell u Philadelphiji, koja radi s pacijentima s covidom, rekla je za NBC News da viđa sve više ljudi s gubitkom mirisa, u usporedbi s početkom godine.

“Kada primijenite test mirisa, vidimo da oko 25 posto ljudi ima oslabljen njuh, što nije mali broj”, rekla je.

Parma je dodala da je broj ljudi koji prijavljuju gubitak mirisa “znatno manji” nego kod varijante delta, koja je bila dominantna u SAD-u 2021. godine.

Nije jasno zašto određene varijante uzrokuju gubitak mirisa više od drugih. Međutim, istraživanja sugeriraju da je do gubitka mirisa dolazi kada virus zarazi živčane stanice u nosu.

Gubitak mirisa mogao bi ponovno postati obilježje covida-19. Zdravstveni djelatnici kažu da sve veći broj ljudi zaraženih virusom ponovno prijavljuje taj simptom, piše Insider.

Još 2020. godine, ako su ljudi izgubili osjet mirisa, bilo je vrlo vjerojatno da su se zarazili koronavirusom. Novije varijante, uključujući i podvarijate omikrona, nisu uzrokovale taj simptom često.

Međutim, gubitak mirisa može se vratiti, jer je podvarijanta BA.5, koja lako može izbjeći imunološki odgovor tijela, postala najčešći uzrok novih slučajeva u SAD-u, prenosi N1.

Valentina Parma, psihologinja u Centru za kemijska osjetila Monell u Philadelphiji, koja radi s pacijentima s covidom, rekla je za NBC News da viđa sve više ljudi s gubitkom mirisa, u usporedbi s početkom godine.

“Kada primijenite test mirisa, vidimo da oko 25 posto ljudi ima oslabljen njuh, što nije mali broj”, rekla je.

Parma je dodala da je broj ljudi koji prijavljuju gubitak mirisa “znatno manji” nego kod varijante delta, koja je bila dominantna u SAD-u 2021. godine.

Nije jasno zašto određene varijante uzrokuju gubitak mirisa više od drugih. Međutim, istraživanja sugeriraju da je do gubitka mirisa dolazi kada virus zarazi živčane stanice u nosu.

Gubitak mirisa mogao bi ponovno postati obilježje covida-19. Zdravstveni djelatnici kažu da sve veći broj ljudi zaraženih virusom ponovno prijavljuje taj simptom, piše Insider.

Još 2020. godine, ako su ljudi izgubili osjet mirisa, bilo je vrlo vjerojatno da su se zarazili koronavirusom. Novije varijante, uključujući i podvarijate omikrona, nisu uzrokovale taj simptom često.

Međutim, gubitak mirisa može se vratiti, jer je podvarijanta BA.5, koja lako može izbjeći imunološki odgovor tijela, postala najčešći uzrok novih slučajeva u SAD-u, prenosi N1.

Valentina Parma, psihologinja u Centru za kemijska osjetila Monell u Philadelphiji, koja radi s pacijentima s covidom, rekla je za NBC News da viđa sve više ljudi s gubitkom mirisa, u usporedbi s početkom godine.

“Kada primijenite test mirisa, vidimo da oko 25 posto ljudi ima oslabljen njuh, što nije mali broj”, rekla je.

Parma je dodala da je broj ljudi koji prijavljuju gubitak mirisa “znatno manji” nego kod varijante delta, koja je bila dominantna u SAD-u 2021. godine.

Nije jasno zašto određene varijante uzrokuju gubitak mirisa više od drugih. Međutim, istraživanja sugeriraju da je do gubitka mirisa dolazi kada virus zarazi živčane stanice u nosu.
