Ljudi s blagim covidom vjerojatno su zarazni pet dana, pokazali su rezultati nove studije koju su proveli znanstvenici s londonskoga Imperial Collegea.
Prvo je to istraživanje koje otkriva koliko traje zaraznost nakon zaraze pojedinca koronavirusom u zajednici.
Studija upućuje na to da je tek svaka peta osoba bila zarazna prije nego što su joj se počeli javljati simptomi.
U dvije trećine slučajeva pacijenti su bili zarazni i peti dan nakon pojave simptoma, a u četvrtini slučajeva i nakon sedam.
Zaraženi su praćeni detaljnim dnevnim testovima kako bi se otkrilo koliko virusa odašilju u svoju okolinu.
Rezultati su pokazati da kućni testovi ne detektiraju pouzdano početak zaraze, ali se mogu sigurno koristiti za skraćivanje samoizolacije.
Znanstvenici preporučuju da se oboljeli od covida izoliraju pet dana nakon pojave simptoma i nakon toga se počnu testirati od šestog dana.
Kažu da je samoizolaciju sigurno prekinuti ako su testovi negativni dva dana zaredom.
Oni koji su i dalje pozitivni na virus, izolaciju mogu prekinuti tek deset dana od pojave simptoma.
"Prije ove studije nedostajao nam je velik dio slike o zaraznosti, ali koristeći se posebnim svakodnevnim testovima i dnevnim evidentiranjem simptoma uspjeli smo definirati ‘prozor‘ u kojemu su ljudi zarazni za ostale", rekao je glavni autor studije, profesor Ajit Lalvani.
"To je ključno za kontroliranje bilo koje pandemije i bilo koje respiratorne bolesti u zajednici".
"Kombinirajući naše rezultate s onime što znamo od dinamici zaraze omikronom, vjerujemo da je trajanje zaraznosti široko primjenjivo za sve postojeće varijante ovog koronavirusa", kazao je.
U studiji su se pratili zaraženi koronavirusom od rujna 2020. do listopada 2021., među kojima je bilo i cijepljenih i necijepljenih.
Potencijalna manjkavost studije je to što joj je uzorak relativno malen, odnosno pratilo se 57 pacijenata.
Rezultati istraživanja objavljeni su u stručnome časopisu The Lancet Respiratory Medicine.

Ljudi s blagim covidom vjerojatno su zarazni pet dana, pokazali su rezultati nove studije koju su proveli znanstvenici s londonskoga Imperial Collegea.
Prvo je to istraživanje koje otkriva koliko traje zaraznost nakon zaraze pojedinca koronavirusom u zajednici.
Studija upućuje na to da je tek svaka peta osoba bila zarazna prije nego što su joj se počeli javljati simptomi.
U dvije trećine slučajeva pacijenti su bili zarazni i peti dan nakon pojave simptoma, a u četvrtini slučajeva i nakon sedam.
Zaraženi su praćeni detaljnim dnevnim testovima kako bi se otkrilo koliko virusa odašilju u svoju okolinu.
Rezultati su pokazati da kućni testovi ne detektiraju pouzdano početak zaraze, ali se mogu sigurno koristiti za skraćivanje samoizolacije.
Znanstvenici preporučuju da se oboljeli od covida izoliraju pet dana nakon pojave simptoma i nakon toga se počnu testirati od šestog dana.
Kažu da je samoizolaciju sigurno prekinuti ako su testovi negativni dva dana zaredom.
Oni koji su i dalje pozitivni na virus, izolaciju mogu prekinuti tek deset dana od pojave simptoma.
"Prije ove studije nedostajao nam je velik dio slike o zaraznosti, ali koristeći se posebnim svakodnevnim testovima i dnevnim evidentiranjem simptoma uspjeli smo definirati ‘prozor‘ u kojemu su ljudi zarazni za ostale", rekao je glavni autor studije, profesor Ajit Lalvani.
"To je ključno za kontroliranje bilo koje pandemije i bilo koje respiratorne bolesti u zajednici".
"Kombinirajući naše rezultate s onime što znamo od dinamici zaraze omikronom, vjerujemo da je trajanje zaraznosti široko primjenjivo za sve postojeće varijante ovog koronavirusa", kazao je.
U studiji su se pratili zaraženi koronavirusom od rujna 2020. do listopada 2021., među kojima je bilo i cijepljenih i necijepljenih.
Potencijalna manjkavost studije je to što joj je uzorak relativno malen, odnosno pratilo se 57 pacijenata.
