Ove nedjelje slavimo Uskrs, najstariji i najveći kršćanski blagdan. Spomen Kristova uskrsnuća, kao temelj kršćanske vjere, štovao se još u ranokršćansko doba i to svake nedjelje.

Jedanput godišnje slavi se od sredine drugog stoljeća, no njegova proslava nije određena datumom te je zbog toga kroz povijest uzrokovao česte razmirice među kršćanima, a dogovor oko zajedničkog datiranja u zapadnom i istočnjačkom kršćanstvu nije postignut do danas.

Perper za najbrže

Zanimljivo je i što se sve događalo za vrijeme Uskrsa u Dubrovačkoj Republici:

Na Veliki četvrtak knez je naredio da grad dade vjedra bijelog vina za pranje oltara stolne crkve. Na Veliku subotu knez daje 50 libara za vosak za uskršnju svijeću koja se blagoslovila taj daj, a zauzvrat bi kanonici pjevali pohvalu knezu, a on bi im svima dao jedan perper. Ako se dogodilo da neki brod ili brodovi Dubrovačke Republike uplove u luku, onom brodu koji bi prvi uplovio dala bi se nagrada od jednog perpera. Nagradu bi dao knez iz svog budžeta. Svaka ribarska barka koja bi otišla u ribolov za vrijeme Uskrsa morala je dati prokuratorima crkve svete Marije određenu količinu ribe. Prokuratori su pak za morali dati svakom majstoru koji je gradio crkvu svete Marije jednu kozu ili ovcu.

Za vrijeme Uskrsa u Dubrovačkoj Republici događalo bi se da bi se poneki građani prerušavali i stavljali maske zbog čega je dolazilo do tučnjava. Vlast je odlučila stati na kraj toj praksi jer se nije sviđala mnogima u zajednici tako da je odredila kaznu od 50 perpera za onog tko bi se prerušio. Onaj tko bi ga prijavio dobio bi pola plaćene kazne, a ime prekršitelja čuvalo se u tajnosti.

Ostavština Vuka Gradija

Uz Uskrs, blagdan nad blagdanima (festumfestorum), kroz stoljeća Dubrovačke Republike vezuje se i zanimljiva i višeslojna legenda satkana od zbilje i mašte.

Kako piše Nella Lonza u svom znanstvenom djelu “Kazalište vlasti - ceremonijal i državni blagdani Dubrovačke Republike”, po završetku službe Božje u katedrali, knezu je pristupao rektor Sv. Nikole na Prijekom i pozivao ga da dođe u njegovu crkvu na sveča­no obilježavanje stjecanja utvrde koja je ondje ranije stajala. Lokalni kroničari zapisali su kako je 1016. zapovjednik Vuko Gradi, opivši svo­je vojnike, predao Dubrovčanima kulu koju je držao bosanski vladar, a za tu zaslugu bio nagrađen plemstvom”.

Obitelj Gradi tako je ušla u patricijat, a legendi bilježi i vjerojatnu istinitu činjenicu da je ondje stajala utvrda koja je prijetila Dubrovniku i koju je bilo od strateške važnosti steći, te memorira širenje Grada na kopnenu stranu. Taj se događaj, navodno, zbio na sam Uskrs, pa se svake godine taj dan obilježavao svečanom procesijom u crkvu podignutu na tom lokalitetu.

Ove nedjelje slavimo Uskrs, najstariji i najveći kršćanski blagdan. Spomen Kristova uskrsnuća, kao temelj kršćanske vjere, štovao se još u ranokršćansko doba i to svake nedjelje.

Jedanput godišnje slavi se od sredine drugog stoljeća, no njegova proslava nije određena datumom te je zbog toga kroz povijest uzrokovao česte razmirice među kršćanima, a dogovor oko zajedničkog datiranja u zapadnom i istočnjačkom kršćanstvu nije postignut do danas.

Perper za najbrže

Zanimljivo je i što se sve događalo za vrijeme Uskrsa u Dubrovačkoj Republici:

Na Veliki četvrtak knez je naredio da grad dade vjedra bijelog vina za pranje oltara stolne crkve. Na Veliku subotu knez daje 50 libara za vosak za uskršnju svijeću koja se blagoslovila taj daj, a zauzvrat bi kanonici pjevali pohvalu knezu, a on bi im svima dao jedan perper. Ako se dogodilo da neki brod ili brodovi Dubrovačke Republike uplove u luku, onom brodu koji bi prvi uplovio dala bi se nagrada od jednog perpera. Nagradu bi dao knez iz svog budžeta. Svaka ribarska barka koja bi otišla u ribolov za vrijeme Uskrsa morala je dati prokuratorima crkve svete Marije određenu količinu ribe. Prokuratori su pak za morali dati svakom majstoru koji je gradio crkvu svete Marije jednu kozu ili ovcu.

Za vrijeme Uskrsa u Dubrovačkoj Republici događalo bi se da bi se poneki građani prerušavali i stavljali maske zbog čega je dolazilo do tučnjava. Vlast je odlučila stati na kraj toj praksi jer se nije sviđala mnogima u zajednici tako da je odredila kaznu od 50 perpera za onog tko bi se prerušio. Onaj tko bi ga prijavio dobio bi pola plaćene kazne, a ime prekršitelja čuvalo se u tajnosti.

Ostavština Vuka Gradija

Uz Uskrs, blagdan nad blagdanima (festumfestorum), kroz stoljeća Dubrovačke Republike vezuje se i zanimljiva i višeslojna legenda satkana od zbilje i mašte.

Kako piše Nella Lonza u svom znanstvenom djelu “Kazalište vlasti - ceremonijal i državni blagdani Dubrovačke Republike”, po završetku službe Božje u katedrali, knezu je pristupao rektor Sv. Nikole na Prijekom i pozivao ga da dođe u njegovu crkvu na sveča­no obilježavanje stjecanja utvrde koja je ondje ranije stajala. Lokalni kroničari zapisali su kako je 1016. zapovjednik Vuko Gradi, opivši svo­je vojnike, predao Dubrovčanima kulu koju je držao bosanski vladar, a za tu zaslugu bio nagrađen plemstvom”.

Obitelj Gradi tako je ušla u patricijat, a legendi bilježi i vjerojatnu istinitu činjenicu da je ondje stajala utvrda koja je prijetila Dubrovniku i koju je bilo od strateške važnosti steći, te memorira širenje Grada na kopnenu stranu. Taj se događaj, navodno, zbio na sam Uskrs, pa se svake godine taj dan obilježavao svečanom procesijom u crkvu podignutu na tom lokalitetu.
